JOB TITLE: Data Specialist
LOCATION: Calabasas, CA
JOB STATUS: Temp-to-Hire (Full Time)
SUMMARY: Responsible for maintaining master data such as all company-related products, accounts, contacts, contracts, and all pricing information within the Reservation System.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Partners with department heads to define business requirements and proposes solutions
- Supports alignment of master data management for implementation
- Works with product, sales, marketing, and accounting departments on product costing
- Maintains customer and supplier price contracts
- Keeps weekly promotions and all related costs and pricing
- Handles all communications relating to issues, resolutions, and status with appropriate departments
- Responsible for the governance of new products in the system that does not meet the set business requirements
- Responsible for auditing and maintaining the integrity of the data
- Prioritizes tasks, partnering with other departments who urgently need to update or add new items
- Continuously looks for improvements, including new systems and processes that would improve the efficiency of the overall operations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Job requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- One-year certificate from college or technical school, or three to six months related experience and training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret standard scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or business community members
- Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and boards of directors
- Possesses an advanced understanding of mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations
- Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables
- Proficient in contact management systems, internet software, inventory software, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word
- Must have the ability to multitask, have strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrates good verbal and written communication skills in English
