Telecom Project Manager – Five Rivers Telecom (Fort Lauderdale, FL / AOB Plantation Office)
Rate: $70/hr

We are seeking an experienced Telecom Project Manager to join the Five Rivers Telecom team. This role is essential in coordinating critical infrastructure upgrades and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, particularly with AT&T and Windstream. The focus will be on managing the upgrade of T1 circuits and ensuring seamless access to facilities to support these upgrades.

Location & Schedule:

  • Based in Fort Lauderdale, FL  with the office located at AOB Plantation.
  • This is primarily an office-based role

Job requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Coordination: Act as a central coordinator, liaising between telecommunications providers (AT&T, Windstream) and internal teams to manage and facilitate the upgrade of T1 circuits. You'll oversee logistics and ensure all necessary access to facilities and substations is secured for scheduled upgrades.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with external providers such as AT&T to ensure effective collaboration. You will work closely with engineering teams, vendors, and substation personnel to troubleshoot any issues related to T1 upgrades.
  • Presentation & Communication: Once a week, deliver presentations to the Head of Technology or Infrastructure on project progress, challenges, and timelines. You should be proficient in PowerPoint and have strong presentation skills to communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Methodology Adherence: Lead projects using a blend of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies, depending on the project phase or requirement. You will be expected to manage multiple moving parts, ensuring that project goals are met in a timely manner while "herding cats" across various teams and departments.
  • Day-to-Day Operations: Spend a significant portion of your day on the phone coordinating with AT&T, Windstream, and other relevant vendors. You'll track project timelines, resolve operational issues, and ensure that all teams involved have the access and information they need for the upgrade process.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Telecom Expertise: Solid understanding of T1 circuit technology and experience managing similar upgrades.
  • Strong Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate with vendors, technical teams, and leadership at all levels.
  • Presentation Skills: Proficiency in creating and delivering PowerPoint presentations to senior management.
  • Project Management Methodologies: Experience with Agile, Jira, and Waterfall methods.
  • Problem-Solving: Comfortable dealing with unexpected issues and coordinating quick resolutions, including working with multiple teams to resolve technical or logistical barriers.
